Range Rover Classic full roll cage internal/external off road challenge
Apologies for some of the pictures, but it is too heavy for me to move on my own, so had to stay where it was apart from the internal roll hoop. Internal roll hoop was made to be able to remove the cross, so as to free up the rear seats though nothing to stop you removing all that and just welding in two new bars. You would need to fabricate plates through the floor welded to the chassis. Upper plates that bolt through the roof have additional steel in them to make up for the ridges in the RRC roof. Diagonals stays to the rear have been cut off and moved up as subsequently removed the rear seats, but never completed it, one is just made up for testing purposes.
Outer cage fits nice and tight to the bodywork to avoid getting hung up on trees. Front hoop goes down through the scuttle panel to two outriggers you would have to fab and weld to the chassis. Nicely curved across the windscreen top and bottom. Single diagonal across the roof above the sunroof to keep things all square.
Sunroof clearly won't open with this fitted, but still slides back OK. Four bars coming off the front hoops, two for strength, and two for sliding along trees to prevent damage to bodywork, extending to the whole length of the vehicle where they meet the rear hoop.
Rear hoop is designed to bolt to a HD bumper also includes, but not shown, forgot the photo! Will add, there is a single captive nut in the end of each tube, which bolts up from underneath.
Cage was painted with proper red oxide followed by Ferguson grey tractor enamel, will want re-painting to your chosen colour anyway. Any questions do feel free to ask! Can advise on fitting, though I won't be doing it ;.
